IMPAQ International is seeking a student Intern/Co-op who will support the Advanced Data Analytics team to assist in the development of data-driven decision-making tools for various health-focused programs. The Intern will support the team with the following tasks: 

  • Construct, clean, and document large datasets for both internal and project-related use
  • Manipulate and manage very large data files in SAS
  • Perform statistical analyses as specified by research staff
  • Apply quantitative methods and techniques to manage and analyze research data
  • Create customized and presentation-quality reports from data analysis results
  • Participate in the design of research studies
  • Support the preparation of technical procedures and reports
  • Write, compile, and edit assigned portions of proposals and project reports
  • Review work products to ensure quality and consistency of content
  • Create presentation-quality data listings, summary tables, and figures
  • Conduct literature reviews of technical and professional publications
  • Performing other related duties as assigned
  • Support Developers and Systems Analysts in projects as needed
  • Attend and contribute to technical discussions and working groups with various stakeholders



  • Must currently be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, Information Technology, or other Applied Science or Mathematics field

Knowledge, Experience and Skills

  • Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Experience in data analysis using SAS, SPSS, STATA, Access, Excel, and/or other databases
  • Knowledge of data processing and management techniques
  • Some experience developing software programs or apps
  • Some experience working within a team involved in the requirements analysis life cycle
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word Excel, PowerPoint
  • Coursework in Java, C, .NET or other common software language
  • Course work or knowledge of data visualization, machine learning, and/or predictive modeling techniques
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Able to learn quickly, take direction and work independently
  • Demonstrated commitment to IT field
