  • Managing Director - Advanced Analytics

  • Overview

    The Advanced Analytics Managing Director will be responsible for identifying opportunities to cultivate growth among existing clients and new markets, managing a cross-functional team, and directing projects. The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership in initiating, developing and leading business development activities for current and new clients, effectively lead quantitative solutions development for clients, and provide leadership to team members. The role demands a high degree of technical skills, independence, flexibility, creativity, sound judgment, and reliability. The Managing Director will be expected to 1) have robust data management and analysis skills using a variety of health data sets and software; 2) have a verifiable record of developing health-focused business opportunities; 3) be a strong collaborator with the ability to motivate others; and 4) be comfortable working in a matrix-like organization.


    • Developing new client relationships and creating new business opportunities
    • Write, lead and perform technical review of proposals, reports and project deliverables
    • Create, drive, and mature best practices, metrics, policies and tracking mechanisms relevant to data management, analytics and data quality
    • Identify and coordinate cross-organizational related data needs and opportunities
    • Identify and collaborate on change management activities including driving a continuous improvement culture including and overseeing quality assurance processes
    • Lead, mentor and supervise of a diverse, highly-skilled professional staff of team of analysts, data managers, system architects and data scientists
    • Work closely with project teams to define analytical questions and interpret results, ensuring timely delivery of accurate results
    • Systematically plan the use of current and future resources to meet service delivery commitments
    • Coach and guide Project Managers to deliver high quality services and address day-to-day aspects of their projects

    Education, Knowledge, Skills and Experience


    • 10+ years of data management and data analytics expertise, including demonstrated successful track record managing technical projects
    • Experience using multiple data sources (claims, clinical and survey data) and software packages (e.g., SQL, SAS, R, Spark, Python, Tableau, etc.) to develop innovative methods and approaches to data-driven solutions
    • Hands-on experience with building complex data pipelines with the capacity to efficiently process terabytes of healthcare data
    • Expert knowledge in predictive analytics, machine learning, and visualization techniques
    • Experience in leading proposals, providing services and preparing presentations and reports for government, private sector and non-profit clients
    • Outstanding leadership and communications skills appropriate for a fast-moving, project-based professional services organization
    • Excellent ability to communicate complex technical material, both orally and in writing
    • Self-directed achiever who identifies opportunities to drive value and takes the lead
    • Leadership experience managing teams and building relationships with both internal and external clients using a customer service oriented approach
    • Strong business acumen, attention to detail, problem solving, and organizational skills
    • Detailed understanding of project finance, accounting, and government contracts (e.g., firm-fixed price, cost plus fixed fee, and time & materials contracts, etc.)
    • Ability to handle difficult or sensitive situations in a professional manner
