IMPAQ International is seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Accountant to work within our Accounting group located in our corporate headquarters in Columbia, MD.  The AR Accountant is responsible for the preparation of billings of various types of government contracts (CPFF, FFP, T&M, etc.), accounts receivable collections and analysis, and financial reconciliation.  This individual will work closely with Program Managers and Contract Managers to ensure accuracy of invoices with a high level of customer service. 

Responsibilities

  • Performs project billing by using automated accounting system Deltek’s GCS Premier and excel
  • Performs reconciliation for each invoice against standard project/job summary reports
  • Performs detailed unbilled analysis of project billings
  • Rate Adjustment and Final Closeout Billings as required
  • Interacts closely with Project Managers to fully execute invoice review/approval
  • Proactively interacts with internal and external clients to resolve nonpayment/collections issues

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, and Experience

  • BS in Accounting, Business or other related field required
  • Minimum of five (5) years Accounting, Government Contract Billing experience is required.
  • DELTEK GCS Premier Billing software experience is strongly desired; or other automated Accounting systems
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to read and interpret billing clauses in contracts
  • Impromptu or other report writer experience is a plus

 

Skills

  • Automated Billing experience in a Government Contracting environment
  • Deltek GCS or other Government contracting software applications
  • Familiarity with FAR, CAS, requirements for Government Contracting
  • Utmost reliability working with proprietary systems and confidential data
  • Ability to understand billing clauses and other AR requirements in contracts documents
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle difficult or sensitive situations in a professional manner
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all members of the research and administrative staff
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude that reflects favorably on the company
