    IMPAQ is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant (with 3+ years in government contracting) to work within our Accounting and Finance group and lead the Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, and financial statements consolidations. The candidate will be responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of the Contract Setup in Deltek GCS Premier, and will have supervisory responsibility for two Accounts Receivable staff. The position is responsible for the senior level oversight of billings of various types of government contracts (CPFF, FFP, T&M, etc.), accounts receivable collections and analysis, financial reconciliation of unbilled balances, General Ledger maintenance, and assisting with month-end close process.


    This individual will work closely with Program Management Office and Contracts Team to ensure accuracy of contract setup, invoices, and revenue recognition with a high level of customer service. This summary of responsibilities provides a general list of certain key functions, and other duties may be assigned to meet business needs. 



    • Provides training to staff and oversight of billings and contract setup;
    • Performs project billings for complex/high visibility projects;
    • Oversees rate adjustment and final closeout billings;
    • Performs detailed unbilled analysis of project billings;
    • Manages the AR collections;
    • Maintains General Ledger, ensures accuracy of all GL reconciliations, and assists with month-end closing including financial statement consolidations;
    • Responsible for various deadline-driven project reporting as required.


    Education, Knowledge, and Experience 


    • BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field is required
    • 5-7 years of work experience directly related to the job function with at least 3 years in government contract billing; supervisory experience is desirable
    • Expertise in generally accepted accounting principles and policies
    • Deltek GCS Premier or Costpoint experience is strongly preferred
    • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Excel
    • Intercompany accounting and financial consolidations experience desired
    • Familiarity with FAR and CAS requirements for Government Contracting
    • Understanding of indirect rate structures and contract types (CPFF, FFP, T&M)



    • Ability to read and interpret billing clauses in contracts
    • Detail oriented and dependable, problem solver
    • Able to work independently, multi-task and prioritize effectively
    • Excellent people skills with a customer service oriented approach, and a focus on building relationships with people at all levels of the organization
    • Detailed understanding of project finance, accounting, and government contracting
    • Ability to handle sensitive situations in a professional manner
    • Strong communication skills – both verbal and written
    • Demonstrate a positive attitude that reflects favorably on the company
