    IMPAQ is seeking a self-motivated Data Visualization Analyst to join our exceptional team of experts who work to improve the health and well-being of millions of people. The Data Scientist will be a member of the Advanced Analytics team and will primarily support health-focused projects. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and experience in quantitative data analysis, including producing data visualizations, and translating data analysis to report writing and presentations. In addition to possessing solid fundamental research skills, this position requires the ability to work with customers, users, and other contractors to develop interactive dashboards and other graphical representations of data to further research and policy decisions.

     

    Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis. Employment-based visa sponsorship (including H-1B sponsorship) is not available for this position.

     

    Responsibilities

     

    • Apply quantitative methods and techniques to manage and analyze research data
    • Construct, clean, merge, manipulate and document datasets for both internal and project-related use
    • Design and develop data visualizations including static charts for reports and dynamic dashboards
    • Conduct literature reviews of technical and professional publications
    • Conduct user research and usability testing
    • Create customized and presentation-quality reports from data analysis results
    • Participate in the research study design
    • Manage administrative aspects of projects and proposals
    • Support the preparation of technical procedures and reports
    • Write, compile, and edit assigned portions of proposals and project reports
    • Review work products to ensure quality and consistency of content

    Qualifications

    Education

    • Degree in Information Systems, Economics, Engineering Psychology, Business Administration, Human-Centered Design, Human Factors, Health or Public Policy, Public Health, Political Science, or related social science field required

    Knowledge and Experience

    • Experience and knowledge of data visualization techniques such as data cleaning, data management, and chart/business intelligence dashboard design and production required
    • Experience using data visualization tools such as Excel, Tableau, JavaScript, MicroStrategy, etc. required
    • Experience with ArcGIS Online a plus
    • Experience in graphic design a plus
    • Experience managing and analyzing large datasets in SAS, or SQL

    • Strong data visualization and design methods
    • Experience with qualitative and quantitative research methods
    • Strong organizational, planning, oral, and written communication skills
    • Ability to take initiative, learn quickly, work independently and in a team environment
    • Creative, professional, and strong attention to detail
    • Exposure to project management and technical assistance
