    The Sr. Human Resources Business Partner will work closely with IMPAQ leadership and staff to manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, provide performance management guidance, conduct compliance audits and reports, assist with HRIS implementations, and provide benefits and compensation guidance.  This is a full-time position based out of our Columbia, MD office and will require travel up to 25% of time to company office locations. 

    Responsibilities

    Employee Relations/Compliance

    • Coaches and assists managers with employee relations issues, ensuring proper procedures are followed related to discipline, termination, and leave activities.
    • Minimizes exposure by promptly investigating, documenting, and proposing resolution to employment matters.
    • Manages and provides early intervention and support for the resolution of a variety of complex employee relations issues.
    • Supports management with compliance in all areas of employment law (Federal, State, and Local), including but not limited to ADA issues, leave, and EEO.
    • Assists with educating employees on company policy and procedural issues.
    • Develops HR policies, practices and procedures.
    • Leads annual and new hire compliance training initiatives.

     

    HRIS

    • Work with the Managing Director of HR and HR Manager to lead and assist with integration of HRIS, Performance Management, Compensation, Document Management, etc.. for IMPAQ and subsidiaries. 
    • Audits Ceridian HRIS to ensure information is accurate and updated in a timely fashion.
    • Creates and runs reports as necessary.

    Compensation

    • Conducts compensation market analysis to evaluate total compensation structure and market competitiveness. Conducts and participates in compensation surveys.
    • Creates, implements, and administers performance management process while working with HR, Operations and Research leadership.   
    • Provides HR team and leaders with tools to ensure all pay adjustments and promotions conform to established guidelines, policies and practices.

    Benefits

    • Ensures compliance on legal and regulatory actions that affect compensation and benefit programs (401k, 5500s, PCORI, Medicare, etc.)
    • Develops and executes Wellness Program Initiatives.

    Qualifications

    Education & Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience is required.
    • Relevant Human Resources certifications (i.e. PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) is preferred.
    • 10+ years of progressive HR experience in a generalist, manager, or HR Business Partner capacity. Government contracting experience is a plus.

    • Organizational Skills: Extremely organized; ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines; meticulous attention to detail.
    • Regulatory/Compliance: In-depth knowledge of federal and state Employment laws.
    • Computer Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with Ceridian strongly preferred.

    Supervisory Responsibility

    • This position may provide work direction to HR staff.

    Travel

    • Must be able to travel up to 25% of time to company office locations.
