    Job Profile

    The Reports/ BI Developer will work with a cross functional team of Data Analysts, ETL Engineers, Business Analysts and Testers supporting the modernization, development and implementation of a multimodal application designed to capture, organize, aggregate, and analyze information related to CMS’s mission of implementing and operating Affordable Care Act programs. This will be a cloud based application utilizing cutting edge data analytics, storage and security technologies.


    This is a 5 year contract located in Woodlawn, MD.

    Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis.  Employment-based visa sponsorship (including H-1B sponsorship) is not available for this position.


    • Collaborate with multi-functional design teams in the development and management of reports and dashboards from complex healthcare datasets
    • Collaborate with different team to streamline and/or automate processes to ensure data lineage, consistency, integrity, and transparency
    • Prepare technical design specifications based on functional requirements and analysis documents
    • Create operational dashboards that monitor data management operations using robust tools such as, but not limited to Splunk, New Relic, AWS Cloudwatch, AWS Application Insights, etc.
    • Develop initiative data visualizations and maintain existing cloud-based reporting systems


    Education, Knowledge, and Experience

    • 3 + years of experience as a Business Intelligence analyst or developer
    • BS/BA in Computer Science or related field
    • Prior Health IT experience with CMS or HHS
    • 3 + years’ experience with Data analytics tools such as AWS QuickSight or Tableau 
    • 3 + years’ experience maintaining operational and analytic dashboards 
    • 3 + years’ experience working on a Big Data, AWS cloud platform and Data Warehouse environments
    • Functional knowledge of CMS IT XLC (Expedited Life Cycle), MIDAS (Multidimensional Information Data Analytics System), ACA (Affordable Care Act)
    • Experience working on Big Data projects or Health Insurance Market Place projects
    • Must have experience in one or more of the following technologies: Java, Relational and NoSQL Database, AWS and Python or Scala Scripting
    • Experience performing data, business and systems analysis
    • Relational Database expertise
    • Strong understanding of sound database structure, database schema, data structures and algorithm concepts  


    • AWS, Redshift Spectrum, RDS, Aurora, Apache Spark, Scala, Python, XML, Java, JSON, SQL, S3, ETL
    • AWS Athena, QuickSight, Glue, Redshift, Apache NiFi, Apache Jupyter, AWS S3

     Preferred Certifications:

    • MCSE: Data Management and Analytics
    • AWS: Cloud Practitioner, Developer Solutions, or Architect
